WELCOME TO THE CAREER LINK
We are so glad you found the 2021 ACES Career Link part of the website. We want to take a minute to tell you about what we have planned this year. The Career Link is a committee of volunteers within Counselor Education that want to help connect job seekers with college and university open positions at the ACES Conference.
1) Both vitas and job posts will be posted on the ACES website.
• Job seekers posting a vita:
Please make sure this document is in PDF format and no more than 3-pages long. Denote in your title if you have a specialization (ie: CMHC, Couple and Family, School, or General) as it assists employers in their connections. Please name your document, LastName. FirstInitial. Specialization. PDF
Example: Ieva.K.School.PDF
To keep this process as confidential as possible, the digital database containing all the vitas will be kept under password. The only people who will have access to the electronic vita database are those employers who have submitted an open position. All colleges/ universities who have open positions will have access to all submitted vitas. If you are needing a higher level of confidentiality, we strongly recommend you contact the employer directly and do not use the Career Link.
You can view the job postings at any time on the website which will be updated frequently. Due to various restraints, the website is the only format in which vitas will be shared by the Career Link. There will not be a place to share your vita through the Career Link at the ACES Conference, so we suggest you bring hard copies to distribute on your own.
Vitas can be posted here.
• Employers posting a position:
Please make sure this document is in PDF format. When submitting your job post, please name your document UniversityName. PDF
If you have submitted an open position, we will send you the password information on how to access the digital database to access the vitas approximately 3 weeks prior to the conference.
Job postings can be posted here.
THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT A JOB POST OR A VITA TO THE CAREER LINK IS FRIDAY September 24, 2021
Anything submitted after that date will be added to the website post conference. There will be no revisions to your vita once posted.
2) University Job Talks (UJT) are an opportunity for employers to discuss their position with applicants. This is not a time for interviews. Employers who have submitted a job will have the opportunity to select a 30-minute time slot to discuss their job with conference attendees interested in the position. Only one university will be assigned to each time slot. Employers will be sent a link to sign-up for these closer to the conference. There are approximately 20 sign-up times for UJT’s—we typically have many more positions then this, so we encourage employers who have submitted job postings to look for this sign-up in mid-to the end of September.
There will be a list of UJT’s sent to those who have submitted their vitas after the list has been compiled (end of September). This list will also be posted on CESNET and in the electronic program in case of last-minute changes. Attendance at the UJT’s will have space limitations, please come early to ensure a seat. There is no pre-sign up for these sessions.
UJTs will not be offered virtually.
3) Career Link focused presentations:
For the third time, Career Link related topics were an option in proposal submission for the ACES Conference. We had an overwhelming response. These programs are specifically designed developmentally for those who are or will be looking for jobs within Counselor Education and Supervision as well as more advanced skills.
They are scheduled throughout the conference and will be listed on the website as well as the conference program.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at ACES and making connections!
If you have any questions or need assistance, please email careerlinkACES@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kara Ieva (Career Link Chair)
Ms. Regina Finan
